Each print will be delivered mounted and unframed.
NB: International orders will be unmounted for carriage

If mounting is preferred then we can arrange, subject to discussion.

A hommage to the first glass plate recorders of photography. I specifically shot this on large format polariod negative. In the printing I left all the lines, marks of the polaroid process. It gives it a much older and more unique feel. So sad the age of polaroid is all but passed. Let us see if the brave companies endeavouring to relight this flame are able to. The prints from these will necessarily be digital copies of an original that is so unique, least of all the processes in creating it are no longer existant. Ancient Oak

Back Story to this image

This ancient piece of oak found on a walk has so much history and even in its dead state gifts a beautiful vessel for living matter 0 in this instance some maiden head fern. The original photographic analogue print was created as a selenium toned split print. The ‘split’ part was the method Gene Nocon used to ‘flash’ the semi developed print half way through processing. It is something that maybe can be replicated in digital manipulation but would never carry the subtlety always achieved in photographic printing. A single print of this as an original silver halide print is available here. It is the only print of its kind, apart from an original held by Jonathan. Thus 1/2 available.

I came upon one of Estonia’s run down manors. This one was Kolga Manor, a magnificent property in spite of it being in need of huge renovation. Perhaps that had something to reflect the 1€ price tag! This Vermeer-esque room in the basement looks like someone already wished to renovate. It is one of those joys where the image is just waiting for you to arrive. Arrive I did and took it away with me, leaving the euro unspent as the extra few million in renovation costs are still being worked on.

Optical Tease

Back Story to this image

This Optical Tease is one of many magnificent, breathtaking and sometimes over the top architectural features found in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana. Having visited Kazakhstan several times, I was completely bowled over at the riot run loose by the likes of architect Richard Rogers, of Pompidou Centre fame, Norman Foster and many others who were invited to contribute to this new capital city creation. The bold, avant garde, futuristic and sci-fi creations are in stark contrast to much of the rest of the country. This optical challenge is what gets us photographers excited. It also makes a magnificent wall hanging in board rooms of blue chip companies, many of which paid me over the years to visit and work in places like this.

This still lake in the Altai region of Siberia perfectly reflects the glacial colours melting from the high mountain range beyond. Fed continuously by the melting glacier and then pouring out to create some of the most terrifying yet beautiful white water rapids in the world this moment was one of stillness until a pebble was launched into it and created the Splash! This pond in Estonia was part of a whole property where the artist, a carpenter had honed each and every part of his craft into every corner of his property. “ As we walked along the white water river, the Katun this sculpted by nature piece of driftwood showed not only the power of the river waters over time but the height and spread the river manifested during the seasons. The water of this river is the direct feed from the glaciers higher up. If you have never tasted water 10,000 years old fresh off the block then you have never experienced the energy it gives you in an immediate, long lasting hit. No wonder the world seems set on preserving life by fighting wars for water. Russia becomes an even greater draw as bolt hole. It contains the world’s largest receptacle for fresh water, in Lake Baikal.

Dew soaked leaves of the pond lily with a lily about to open. Flying leaves from nearby trees finding support lend a late summer tranquility to the image. Post production added a posterised finish which adds a new dimension to shape and colour
