Times Gone By - The Art of Creating Yesteryear

The influences of Impressionism, the desire that photography became just as much an art form as painting drove me to explore its potential through images reconstructing, imagining and depicting the past. Here are some of those attempts. Now today with so much manipulation we have within the digital arena the marriage of photogrpahy and painting can become a blurred fusion. At first sneering at its birth I have since become to love and utilise so much of what digital offers. It is the eye that matters, the frame that speaks not the technical injection. Having said that, like all accomplished artists you can only draw a figure as Matisse shows us in his final works when you have imbibed all the technical, all the know how and experience garnered over a life time. Everything else is merely exploration, experience and encounter.
